Why we do NOT ship via Parcel Post.

The Post Office charges for a Parcel Post shipment is $ 7.00 to $ 8.90 for a one pound or less package with an insured value of $ 50.00 or less. We must obtain insurance and a Delivery Confirmation Number. If we did not include insurance and a Delivery Confirmation in your shipment you would not be able to receive notice of when the package is shipped and when it has been delivered nor would you be able to get a refund for a Post Office loss due to damage, wet delivery, etc. A package with a value of $ 51.00 or more cost more for insurance. You must also understand that nothing travels from Maui direct to the Mainland. All packages stop in Honolulu and then are forwarded. The time it takes for the Post Office to delivery a Parcel Post package to the Mainland from Maui is usually no less than 8 work days and as long as two to three weeks or more. Maui is an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. There are no roads or bridges to the mainland. Priority Mail takes two to five days at the most for delivery. It simply does not make good sense to save less than $ 2.00 to have to wait weeks to receive your purchase. The post office does not furnish boxes for Parcel Post. MauiShirts can not afford to purchase or make special boxes for Parcel Post shipments and keep our low, discounted prices. We would need to raise our prices to cover this additional cost. The Post Office furnishes free boxes for Priority Mail.

You folks who complain about $ 9.90 for shipping need to see the whole forest and not just one single tree. Go to USPS.com and get the facts. Do the math. And, don’t think that UPS is cheaper. It is not cheaper and the time for delivery is also at issue. Mauishirts.com has spent more than ten years on finding the best way to get your order to you fast, safe and on time from Maui.

Go find a merchant that offers free shipping. You will find that their prices for their apparel are much higher than MauiShirts.com and more than likely they are not made in the USA and / or the quality will not be the same as R. J. Clancey and Paradise Found.  So, if you want free shipping, all you got to do is pay more money for your shirts and dresses. I guarantee their shipments will not be wrapped in tissue paper, inserted into a protective plastic bag and shipped neatly folded in a box.

Go check out the cost for a 2^nd Day Federal Express package from Federal Express. You will find our $ 19.80 shipping cost is about half what FedEx would charge you.

MauiShirts.com is the NUMBER ONE shipper from Maui to the Mainland for the Post Office and most of the time for Federal Express.

So, stop complaining or find some Made in China or Made in Indonesian apparel at your local mall and pay less for your apparel and there will be no need for shipping.

The shirts are absolutely great. I use a P.O. box for my address, and I’ve had merchandise delivered to it previously from other companies. Maui Shirts stated that FedEx couldn’t ship to a P.O. box. I actually had to go and pick up the shirt at the FedEx depot, because they didn’t call as instructed, and only left a tag on the third delivery attempt. Great selection! I received my order in a reasonable amount of time and the shipment was well-packaged. The shirts are of excellent quality and are exactly as described and pictured. Remember to pay attention to the web site’s ordering instructions about choosing alternate shirts in case an ordered shirt is out of stock. One of the shirts I ordered was out of stock, but I had chosen alternates, so an alternate was substituted and the total order price was adjusted down to reflect the lower price of the alternate shirt. Return instructions are included with the shipment in case one must return an item. I didn’t return anything, but the process is well-explained and reasonable.
