The Dress found in the farm’s ’stock tank’ by the cellar!

First Email Received: 6:00 a.m. Thursday, 04/30/09.

I placed this order on 4/23. it is now 4/30 and i haven’t received the dress or a shipping confirmation email. Please let me know! I’m getting worried. My niece’s birthday is Sunday. Thanks again KK / Lahoma, OK

Response to the email above:

I’m just reading your email; 6:30 pm Maui time, Thursday.

Gosh, I don’t know what to say.
Your order was never processed. (I thought)

I do not know why.

This has never happened before.

I’m embarrassed.

I see that the credit card was charged, but the order was never printed.

(I still can not locate the original paperwork)

The dress is not in our hanging stock here on Maui.

I can ship the dress tomorrow from the Honolulu factory, but unfortunately there is no Saturday Delivery from Honolulu to Oklahoma.

The earliest the dress can get to you is Monday.

I will ship it if you want me to and I will pay for the shipping.

I will refund your $ 19.80 shipping charge.

I see that you have used a very old coupon code MX1010.

Might I inquire where you received this coupon?

I sincerely apologize for this mishap.

What would you like me to do?

Response from Oklahoma to the email above:

Hello. I just wish I would have inquired earlier. I guess ship the dress; I’ll just have to apologize for no birthday present. I can’t order one from anywhere else this late and get it by Sunday.

The coupon code was from 4/13/07, order #15231, when I ordered a dress from you (for the same niece, actually! (LOL) and when I received it you had sent a small although I had ordered a medium. It was too late to return and get another for her birthday, so I kept the dress for me (I wear a small) and bought her something else last-minute. I guess ordering gifts for her from your site may be bad luck. You gave me that coupon code over the phone to use if I would ever order from you again. If it’s too out of date, that’s fine, let me know. I was in Maui last year, and actually bought some dresses from your store in person. She wants a Hawaiian dress every year. Anyway, yes, ship the dress, she picked it off your website and has her heart set on it. Thank you.

I’m really puzzled about this. I looked and looked, and thought and thought and did an hour or more of paper flipping and research. I found the delivery of the dress from the factory on the 23rd. And, then I found the shipment notification from Federal Express. Eureka! The package was delivered.

My reply to the customer after locating the information and tracking number:

Federal Express says the package was delivered on the 29th !?

Did you receive the package?

Reply from Oklahoma to my email of discovery: (The good stuff)

Okay, after getting your message that FED EX delivered the package, I spent my lunch searching my farm. YES, it was delivered. They left it in an old stock tank that has a lid on it to keep critters out. But FedEx is famous for leaving packages in odd places around here. I should have known to check the old stock tank over by the cellar?!?! They used to at least leave notes on the front door when they did stuff like that. But yes, I apologize, I did get the dress. And the box got wet, but the dress was in the plastic, so it looks okay. Thanks for everything. Let me know if that discount code wasn’t good since it’s been 2 years ago. Thanks again! Dr. Kristy

Final response to the customer:

Aloha,

I’m so glad I packaged it in plastic.

My showroom girl said, and I quote: “How many bullets did I dodge on this one”. Hehe

Wow; Some story.

Thank you for your response.

You are a valued customer.
