The History of Paradise Found Hawaiian Clothing

November 27th, 2013

This is the blog for MauiShirts.com. We started as a web based business in 1998 by representing Paradise Found. Here is a short biography of Pacific Clothing, known as the brand name Paradise Found was actually started in 1991 by two new partners when they took over the company from the original owner. Joe and his wife Linda started the Paradise Found brand in 1976 while Joe was a sales rep for several men’s clothing lines.
When the business grew, Joe gave up representing other companies to concentrate all his efforts on Paradise Found.

Paradise Found became one of the first Hawaiian Shirt manufacturers to match the design on all of their pockets.  Over the years, several VIP’s stopped in to buy their products including Sylvester Stallone, the wife of Sammy Davis Jr., Altovise Davis, Ethel Merman, and Tom Selleck.  Tom Selleck actually handpicked the Calla Lily print, but it is the Jungle Bird print that became a favorite during the Magnum P.I. series and is still a best seller today.  Joe and Linda moved back to the Bay Area where they first met, and Pacific Clothing took over.  Pacific Clothing continues to design fresh innovative prints while keeping with their unique look and identity.

I loved the white orchid Paradise Found shirt Ladies “Magnum PI” purchased recently. I purchased the male version in Honolulu around 2000 for a friend. I wanted a matching one to wear when we go out for casual dates. I was so excited to find this store online. The quality of this shirt is wonderful and has the old hawaiian look. When I had trouble tracking this shirt, Maui shirt communicated very well and provided me with the tracking number. I decided to order small one size difference then the measurements suggested and am happy with that for a good fit. I will be buying from Maui Shirts in the future. MAHOLO!
