Aloha,
Thank you for your kind words.
I always appreciate an opportunity to provide service to my valued customers.
The shipping charges are inconsequential.

Dear Mickey –
Thank you so much – I’m sorry for my confusion on the sizing, and appreciate your thoughtful response.
How about we split the postage you’ll incur sending a shirt back…or, you can send it regular mail instead of priority, as I don’t want you to have to eat any margin that may be left after re-stocking, etc. (I realize what a deal the shirt is – I had a similar shirt many years ago, and it wore out…I’ve been looking to replace it since.) Does that seem fair?
In the interim, I will send the shirt back to exchange for a large, and appreciate your help.
Cheers,
CS

Aloha,
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately there are no two manufactures of apparel that can, or will ever, agree on sizes.
The Paradise Found San Francisco print is a vintage cotton print.
Unlike rayon, there is no give to the cotton fabric.
I’ve measured a random Medium cream San Francisco shirt, and came up with a tad more than 46”.
The size chart has stood the test of time for over ten years. It is as accurate as we can be.
All the shirts are hand made. One sewing contractor is different from the next sewing contractor.
The San Francisco shirt was sewn over 15 years ago. It truly is a vintage print.
MauiShirts own the entire stock of this print. That is why we offer this $ 75.00 shirt for only $ 29.98.
Everyone else, I think you are referring to, are selling made in China or made in Indonesia apparel.
99% of what we sell is made in Honolulu.
I would strongly suggest you exchange for a LARGE.
The shirts are not made to be worn tight, but Aloha style, loose.
There are no two people built the same way.
The only way we can continue to be successful selling apparel on-line is to offer our customer’s the measurements of the garment.
There, simply, is no other way.
Please send the shirt back to either address below.
Please fold it flat as best you can.
First Class mail will do.
We will replace it with a LARGE and ship it to you at our expense.
Or, you may return the shirt for a full refund.

I would like to exchange the order above for a larger size.
BTW – on the website, “Medium” is indicated as 46” to 48” chest. I’m about 44”, and nearly popped a button when I tried the shirt on. I notice the fine print on the website now, but you would probably cut down on returns if you re-thought your sizing chart. From a customer service perspective, it’s probably better to make your sizing descriptions correspond to the way everyone else thinks about sizing instead of the other way around.
